What is a Kinich Sun Hood?

A Kinich Sun Hood is a modular sun protection accessory designed to pair with your favorite shirt or fishing outfit. It adds UPF 50+ coverage to your neck, ears, and face—without the bulk or poor fit of traditional sun hoodies.

How is a Kinich Sun Hood different from a sun hoodie?

Traditional sun hoodies are full shirts with attached hoods. Kinich Sun Hoods are standalone, breathable hoods that fit with any shirt—so you can keep the fit, pockets, and look you love, and still get top-tier sun protection.

What level of UV protection do Kinich Sun Hoods offer?

Kinich Sun Hoods are made with UPF 50+ fabric, which blocks over 98% of harmful UV rays. This is the highest standard in sun-protective clothing.

Who designed Kinich Sun Hoods?

Kinich Sun Hoods were designed by longtime fly fishing guide Dallin Ralls, who spent decades guiding on the South Fork of the Snake River. Tired of sun hoodies that didn’t fit or function well, he created the perfect alternative for guides, anglers, and outdoor adventurers.

What is the fabric like?

Our hoods are made from ultra-soft, lightweight, and breathable performance fabric. It wicks moisture, dries fast, and is comfortable to wear all day—even in the heat.

Will a Kinich Sun Hood fit with any shirt?

Yes. Kinich Sun Hoods are designed to work with any shirt, jacket, or fishing top. Simply slip it on under your collar and you're good to go.

What activities are Kinich Sun Hoods good for?

Kinich Sun Hoods are great for hiking, golfing, kayaking, boating, camping, and working outdoors. Anywhere the sun shines—Kinich goes.

Are they easy to pack?

Yes! They’re lightweight, packable, and quick-drying—perfect for throwing in your fishing vest, golf bag, daypack, or glove box.

How do I wash my Kinich Sun Hood?

Hand wash cold. Hang dry. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners to preserve the fabric’s UV protection and stretch.

Where are Kinich Sun Hoods made?

Kinich Sun Hoods are proudly designed and manufactured in the USA, using carefully sourced, high-performance fabrics.
